Our Work

The Principal Auditor, and through him, the GAO supports the Gibraltar Parliament in holding Government to account for its spending and for providing value for money in the delivery of public services. In addition, we promote good governance, transparency and accountability in the use of public funds through our work.

This role is carried out on a daily basis by undertaking the following work:

• Financial statement audits of the Government, statutory corporations, authorities and agencies;
• Compliance audits of government departments, statutory corporations, authorities and agencies; and
• Performance audits that promote the efficient, effective, and economic use of resources across government departments, statutory corporations, authorities and agencies.
